Foresight Is 2020
This book is one of a kind – hopefully metaphorically.
However, it is most certainly literally, as there is only one in existence.
It was printed by dbusiness, Berlin. Due to the publishing business‘ habit of „I need it yesterday“, the author went to Berlin on 04 July 2020 to pick it up in person, and drove back the same day, because there was an increasingly impatient and hungry cat waiting.
On 06 July, the author presented the book to a publisher as a reference. The publisher seemed genuinely impressed and the meeting resulted in a first hired-gun contract with Regionalia Verlag – which would turn into a total of 17 contracts over the next four years.
I am very grateful to everyone involved.
“Foresight Is 2020” is essentially the condensed English version of the “fiat veritas” series – with a very different second half and ending.
Again, this is the only copy in existence. There are about 85 pages partially coloured. It comes with the e-book (pdf) of the same name.

Live coverage on all Luxemborg media. Network, cable, satellite, stream, down to the last internet tube. Set off by an invisible alternative lifestyle salientium.
Applause, applause, applause.
Perfunctory movement of appendages. Subconsciously driven, putting key into lock. Conditioned, programmed since childhood, rendering cues superfluous. The sort of applause no man or machine could tell whether it is a heartfelt expression of emotion or the equivalent of small talk. A social gesture devoid of meaning, place holder for something unlikely to ever manifest.
Smile, smile, smile.
The Luxemborg simper. Is it a sneer, is it a smirk? Jaw muscle action to reveal the exposed skeleton. Inaction of other facial muscles.
The type of reverse glower no man or machine could tell whether it is heartfelt expression of emotion, prelude to attack, or equivalent of small talk. A gesture appropriate at a dentist check-up, certainly not in public, usually accompanied by horse-corsing visual middle fingers bleach, veneer, and other make-up.
Today’s State of the Union Address is joined by the headliner. Following the House Sergeant at Arms’ call to the Chamber’s Speaker at the West entrance, President Johnson is taking the smaller East entrance, where these applauding and smiling creatures barely leave enough room, like the crowd at a cycling event trying to consume rider and bike. The TV cameras apparently cut too early to the walking vanity case that is his wife, who is neither applauding nor smiling.
